
Category 1 - National Capital Region (NCR) Active Duty/Reserve/National Guard soldiers and family members
- Open to all NCR Soldiers (Enlisted and Officers), child, or spouse
Category 2 - Warrior Transition Unit Soldiers and Family Members
- Open to all WTU Soldiers (Enlisted and officers), child, or spouse
Category 3 - ROTC Scholarship
- High school senior currently a member of any service's JROTC program
- Student currently enrolled in any college ROTC program
- Favorable recommendation from JROTC Senior Instructor/ROTC Professor of Military Science
Category 4 - National Capital Region Retirees and Veterans
- Open to all NCR Retirees and Veterans
Category 5 - National Capital Region DA Civilians
- Open to all NCR Department of the Army Civilians
Category 6 - Fairfax-Lee Member/Family Member Scholarships
- Open to all Fairfax-Lee Chapter members (Enlisted, Officer, & Civilian), child, or spouse
Category 7 - Science or Engineering Scholarship
- Open to Categories 1 - 6 majoring in a science or engineering discipline

- High school senior or college student for Academic Year 2010 - 2011, full or part time

- Enclose transcript or GPA verification
- Enclose at least one recommendation from teacher/counselor or supervisor (in addition to those stated above).
- Favorable recommendation from your supervisor (Categories 1, 3, 5, and 6 (members) only)
- Letter of Certification of Military status from Commanding Officer (Category 1 and 2 only)
- Letter of Certification from a Military Education Center Counselor stating current academic standing and college enrollment status for 2010-2011 Academic Year (Category 1 and 2)
- Proof of Prior Military Service (Category 4)
- Priority will be given to first-time recipients
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered
